Bautzen county is the largest county of the federal state of Saxony by area and member of the Euro-Region Neisse. The county's administrative center is located in Bautzen. 26 conservation areas are home to a unique wildlife and flora. Also unique is the population of the so-called "Sorbs", members of the smallest west-slavic group of people. The resulting bilingualism is visible in numerous municipalities, town signs, signposts und several public institutions. The famous Bautzener mustard originates from this region.
