The county of North-Saxony with its district capital Torgau, is located in the northern part of the federal state of Saxony. Hiking trails and cycle tracks are embedded in nature parks and unique meadow landscapes along the rivers Elbe and Mulde. Another plus is the proximity to Leipzig, the city of culture and fairs. With the closure of the lignite surface minings, a unique lakeland arose during the last years. The airport Halle/Leipzig is an important factor economic-wise, which contributes to the settling of logistic companies as well as to the development of the touristic industry.
