Ministry of the Interior

The Ministry of the Interior is responsible for all internal affairs of the Free State of Saxony. An important task is the maintenance of public security and order. For this reason, the Saxon police are subordinated to this ministry. But this also includes constitutional protection, fire protection, disaster protection and the coordination of rescue services. In addition, the ministry is responsible for legal issues of the country and for asylum matters. This includes questions of coordination, nationality and other foreigners' interests. Another task area is the regulation of urban development, construction and housing. The Ministry coordinates the protection of monuments, urban development and the promotion of housing.
