The city Leipzig is located in eastern Germany and is known as the origin of the peaceful revolution that led to the German reunification in 1990. Since the Middle Ages Leipzig was an important business location, which hasn't changed so much even during the GDR. Leipzig was and is an important production site, among other things, mainly known for engineering and heavy industry. While after the German reunification Leipzig had to struggle with depopulation the population is about to regrow again nowadays.
